Mitchell John Cyr

August 10, 1957 - March 12, 1987

Mitchell John 'Mitch' Cyr was born to James Ronald Cyr and Rose Marie (Petti) Cyr on August 10, 1957 in Harrow, a suburb 15 miles northwest of central London, England. Mitchell's father was in the U.S. Air Force.

Mitch's family relocated to Bellevue, Nebraska, where Mitch attended Bellevue High School in 1973.


Mitch joined JROTC during his Sophormore year at Bellevue.

He also joined the Latin Club, lending significantly to an award-winning team that year.



Mitch achieved exceptional status on the Debate Team, bringing home 11 trophies from novice tournaments, including 4 first place tropies.



The following year, Mitch's father was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, where Mitch attended General H. H. Arnold High School for his Junior and Senior years.

Again, Mitch joined several clubs and activities, including the Debate Team, and the National Honor Society, serving as President in his Senior year.





Mitch graduated from General H. H. Arnold High School with the Class of 1975.

On August 17, 1979, Mitch married Jacquelynne Yvonne Lee in Harris, Texas. Jacquelynne, who originally hailed from Lawton, Oklahoma, had relocated to Texas and was training to be a flight attendant while working for Braniff Airlines.



Mitch's mother died December 28, 1985 at the age of 52. Mitch passed away just a little over a year later, on March 12, 1987 at the age of 29. He was laid to rest in Bellevue Cemetery, next to his mother. Mitch's father, James, passed just six months later at the age of 55 and was buried by his son and wife.
